Sen. Warren pushes for ISDS-free trade agreements
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Wednesday pledged to “keep on fighting” until all U.S. trade agreements are rid of investor-state dispute settlement mechanisms.
The Finance Committee member spoke during a webinar hosted by Rethink Trade, the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment and Georgetown Law’s Center for the Advancement of the Rule of Law in the Americas and Center on Inclusive Trade. The groups touted the release of a white paper on ISDS tied to the developing Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity.
