“I’ve made 200 deals,” Trump said in his TIME “100 Days” interview when asked about negotiations over the highest tariffs he imposed on scores of countries.
“You have to understand, I’m dealing with all the companies, very friendly countries,” he said.
There aren’t, if you are wondering, 200 countries in the entire world. (The correct number is 195.) Perhaps it was just a bit of Trumpian exaggeration and hyperbole. Or, perhaps, it was a classic Freudian slip.
